And fans they have sent good luck messages via the Adver their good luck messages ahead of the game – the club’s biggest since the 2010 play-off final against Millwall.

Carpwrangler wrote: “Good luck lads.

“You’ve already exceeded alł expectations so no pressure just go and enjoy it and you’ll have the best chance of winning.

“The only important thing is to come back knowing you gave it your best shot.

“Thanks for a great season.”

While mancrobin said: “Some, if not most of you talented guys will go on to put on shirts of so-called bigger clubs.

“But just remember on Sunday that you’ll be putting on the shirt held in highest esteem by many thousands of fans.

“My dream was always to play for the Town at Wembley and up to the age of about 14 (well 45 actually) I remained convinced that I would.

“I hope you do, but there’s a chance you may not ever play at Wembley again.

“Enjoy the day.

“So, go play like you have done so many times this season, nothing more is needed.

“You are a fabulous bunch of footballers that Mr Cooper and his staff have moulded into a fabulous team.

“The most entertaining I’ve seen in many years.

“Win or lose, I am delighted the way the season has gone this year.

“Well done lads.

“If Swindon win on Sunday, so does football.”

This week the players have been inundated with good wishes from the likes of model and TV personality Melinda Messenger and MPs Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland.

Mr Tomlinson said: “I am so excited for the final.

“The whole town is right behind the players and with one last push we can be back into the Championship.”
