THE School Council at Westbury Infants have been celebrating after managing to bag themselves £188 towards improvements during playtimes including the purchase of a friendship bench.

The council, made up of 15 pupils, raised £100 from bag packing at Morrisons in just in one hour and then they went on to raise a further £88 at their toy sale last month.

Community events manager Lisa Litterick from Morrisons went to the school to present the children with their money and certificates.

The focus of the project was chosen and voted for by children at the school and will see the money be spent on equipment such as balls, goal posts, a play house, wet playtime board games, iPads and iPods for wet playtimes, as well as Friendship Benches with enscribed plaques.

In June and July, the school council will be washing cars for the customers whilst they shop for a small donation and the school’s Ocarina Club will be performing their musical skills in the entrance of the store.
