19 GUIDES and Leaders from 1st Studley and Atworth Guides have just returned from their week’s summer camp at the Wiltshire South Girlguiding Activity Centre at Berwick St James.

The theme of this year’s camp was Paddington Bear, so they made suitcases for a Paddington Tea party. The Guides also worked on various camp skills, like tent pitching and making bedding rolls, and held flag ceremonies, and were awarded their camp scarves.

There was a session of archery and they undertook a hill walk which included various challenges along the way. The day out was to Snowtrax Ski Centre near Christchurch, where the Guides had a go on ringos and ski bobs. After lunch on Mudeford beach they went to Salisbury with time for shopping and a fish and chip supper. Guide leader Marion Davies said: "We had one wet day and a number of very cold nights, but everyone enjoyed themselves and are talking about coming next year."
