STUDENTS at St. John’s School in Marlborough are once again celebrating fantastic success in their AS and A-level examinations.

Early indications from the school are that 90 per cent of the 140 students with university offers have already secured places, with all but a few getting their first choice.

With almost 200 students receiving their A-level results on Thursday there were many top achievers.

Mark Bedford, Tom Blount, Jonny Budd, Lizzie Cope, Tash Copus, Beckie Doyle, Flo Lenehan, Freya Lewis, Nick Millar, Angus Morshead, Annabel Nichols, Rachel Patel, Alex Sadler and Lucy Smith all achieving at least three A or A* grades.

Dan Rogan, assistant vice principal, said: “None of this success would be possible without the hard work of our students, the inspiration and dedication of their teachers and the unstinting support of their parents.

“We focus on all students achieving their best and our students have made excellent progress throughout the last two years across the wide range of subjects we offer.

“We are particularly proud of the achievements of Molly Wisbey, Jeremy Barker, Will Scott, Serenna Dundas, Asha Hall-Jones, Harriet Salva and Jess Vincent.”

Year 12 students also collected their AS grades yesterday, the final year in which these exams count towards A-level grades in all subjects.

Over a fifth of grades came in with a grade A and many students achieved at least three A grades including Abby Colquhoun, Darla Dryland, Toby Fechner, Harry Forbes, Adam Gray, Jasmine Harrod, Chloe Howe, Saskia Jackson, Maddie Kromer, Jake Owen, Matt Sharland, Eden Telemacque, Jake Whittaker, Harry Whitworth and Emily Withers.
