BARBERSHOP brothers Domenico and Gianluca Mazzotta were snip-happy at the launch of their new family-run salon this week.

The Cut Barbershop, in Thames Avenue, Greenmeadow, will offer haircuts for men and children, after the dynamic duo from Cheney Manor opened their doors for the first time, with customers given champagne and chocolates as a welcome.

The first customer in the chair for a quick trim was North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson, with hordes of visitors descending on the business throughout the day.

Domenico said he was delighted with the response from the community. “It’s gone really well today,” he said.

“We had a good few people come through the doors and there was a great atmosphere in there.

“We’ve had so much support from the community. Word of mouth has really got the business out there so we’re excited to see how it all goes.”

The 20-year-old trained in Shoreditch, London, before undertaking further training at the Barbering Academy of England for Gary Hattos Barbershop, in Chippenham.

Younger brother Gianluca, 17, also trained at the Barbering Academy of England with the brothers getting a taste of working together at Gary Hattos.

And Domenico assured customers there will be no sibling rivalry as the brothers begin their barbershop business.

“We’re both very relaxed people and we very rarely argue about anything so if we do bicker it certainly won’t be on the shop floor,” he said.

“I like to think we’re different from other barbers in the town because firstly we are the first barbers in Greenmeadow. We’re reasonable with our prices and we’re traditional so it is very much a speedy and professional service that we’re offering.”
