CHRIS Collier, 52, will appear at Bristol Crown Court later this week charged with the murder of his wife between September 3 and 6.
Collier was arrested over the weekend after the body of Anne Collier, 55, was found in the house where they lived in Charter Road, Chippenham.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning but, as magistrates do not have power to deal with the case, it was referred to the higher court.
Collier stood in the dock looking unshaven and wearing a beige jumper, speaking to confirm his name, address and age.
He will remain in custody until at least the hearing in Bristol, which must be heard within 48 hours, where bail will be decided.
