TALK is cheap, it's time for action' insists Paul Sturrock after telling his players to both shut up and shut out the circus.

As revealed in yesterday's Swindon Advertiser the manager has banned his squad from talking to the press ahead of Saturday's match with Walsall.

And not only does Sturrock want them to button it, he wants them to turn off the television, switch off the radio and ignore the newspapers.

The County Ground boss sees it as an important step in helping his players focus on the task in hand while taking some of the pressure off his troops.

Sturrock says the time for talking is over.

He said: "Talk is cheap. I want actions now.

"At the end of the day I want them concentrated on this game. I don't want them discussing it in any way. I want them running out on Saturday fresh in their mind what they've got to do.

"That's why I've banned the players from talking to the media.

"The more times they talk about it the more worry it puts into their psyche.

"The important thing for us is to make sure they're totally committed to the cause and know exactly what they've got to do on Saturday."

PAUL Sturrock will learn tomorrow whether he has lifted April's manager of the month award.

Walsall's Richard Money, Bristol Rovers' Paul Trollope and John Coleman of Accrington Stanley have also been nominated.
