ADY Williams is ordering his troops to stand 10 feet tall and die for the cause' with the skipper confident of victory in the final battle of a long campaign.

Injury will rob the club skipper of the chance to play against Walsall but he is absolutely convinced that those selected to take on the Saddlers will complete their mission successfully.

The 35-year-old feels there is every reason for optimism and that last week's blip at Bristol Rovers should be placed into context.

Williams, who is still recovering from knee surgery, said: "I'd give my right arm to be fit for selection for Saturday.

"I've been fortunate to play in some big games during my career and these are the games as a footballer you want to play in.

"Those given the shirt (for Saturday) are the lucky ones and I imagine they'll die for the cause.

"When you walk out there you should really stand 10 feet tall and be proud to be wearing the shirt.

"The feeling after the game, if it goes to plan, will be unforgettable."

And Williams sees no reason why it shouldn't go to plan.

He said: "With the exception of Saturday's game at Bristol Rovers the form has been outstanding.

"It's just that MK Dons have been in such good form as well.

"I think we've won five, drawn one and lost one in the last seven games.

"The form's there and the confidence is there.

"What a great game to have, Walsall at home.

"We beat them 2-0 away, they'll be looking for a little bit of revenge and a championship medal.

"There's a lot on the game but the boys have got to be relaxed, got to be focused and they've got to enjoy it.

"The gaffer, Kevin (Summerfield) and John (Blackley) have been here many, many times before.

"Come three o'clock the atmosphere will be electric.

"I think everybody's looking forward to it.

"I'm certainly looking forward to it."

And like his manager, Williams is pushing the positive approach to battle.

He said: "We are going out to win the game, not looking for a point or to play for a point.

"We'd like to hear some champagne corks being popped.

"I'm absolutely convinced the boys will do the job on Saturday and I'm hoping it will be a fantastic day for the whole of Swindon Town."
