CORSHAM’s very own global vlogger has come face to face with her waxwork this week after Madame Tussauds in London opened their doors to a new YouTube themed area.

Zoe Sugg, known as Zoella to her fans, shot to fame through her online blog, social media sites and YouTube channels which have an audience of more than 12 million.

Now, the 25-year-old, formerly of Lacock has joined the likes of boy band One Direction and actress Angelina Jolie at the museum, which has chosen to create a wax figure of the online blogger to ‘reflect the popularity of this new genre of celebrity’.

Her boyfriend and fellow video blogger Alfie Deyes has also been created into a waxwork.

The process of creating the wax figures took months of preparation and the couple were heavily involved in their construction with fans voting on Miss Sugg’s lipstick as well as picking out what colour t-shirt Mr Deyes should wear.

YouTube's senior director, Stephen Nuttall, said: “Zoe and Alfie have charmed the world through YouTube - their channels combined have over 13 million subscribers. They've rewritten the content rulebook; developed a hugely engaged global audience of fans; have best-selling books and bonafide star status.

“YouTube is what happens when tech and creativity collide - and I can't think of a better way to celebrate our 10th birthday than through the success of our stars.”

The backdrop for the pair’s figures at the museum is a bedroom to show the common sight of the couple lounging on a bed uploading their popular vlogs.

Miss Sugg began filming makeup and fashion tutorials six years ago at her home in Lacock where she lived with brother Joe and dad Graham.

After finishing her A-levels in art, photography and textiles at The Corsham School, she started an apprenticeship in interior design while filming and blogging as a hobby.
