A BRADFORD on Avon artist is looking forward to bigger and better things after her first art exhibition began in promising fashion last weekend.

Annette Dineley, of Bobbin Lane, Westwood, presented her abstract art, traditional landscapes and embroidered textile and fabric work, impressing residents, at West Barn, Silver Street.

Mrs Dineley was pleased with her debut, selling six paintings, making a profit and a footfall of more than 500 people, but was hungry for more success.

“It was a very good start and I got some great feedback but I am eager to push on from here,” said Mrs Dineley.

“Next time I hope to hire a gallery, perhaps in Bath, as my most popular work was bought by those walking in buying felted jewellery and postcards, but the numbers were very encouraging.

“My husband, Geoffrey, sold a few of his photos of America and he was delighted with that.”

Mrs Dineley’s brother, David Harrison, travelled from his home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, to lend a hand.

“I thought I had to come down and provide moral support and naturally I thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Mr Harrison. “It was a good learning experience.”

Mrs Dineley has her sights set on a big 2016, with another exhibition planned as well as art workshops and making her mark, one brush at a time.
