TWO men had to be cut free from their vehicles following after a head-on collision in Avebury.

Police received a call just after 9pm on Sunday to reports of a crash between a Fiat Punto and a minibus at the junction of the A361 and The Avenue.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed while the drivers were cut free by fire crews from Marlborough and Calne.

One man was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon with possible chest injuries, but these were not believed to be serious. The roads were reopened just before 11pm.
