DOROTHY House Hospice Care is adding a Festive Family Frolic to go along with its fifth annual 6km Santa Dash on December 6 at 11am at Dorothy House, Winsley, Bradford on Avon

The increasingly popular festive run, which sees runners traverse the Winsley countryside, now includes the frolic which takes place at the same time and involves a 1km run, walk, hop, skip or jump event.

The buggy friendly route is two laps along the tarmac footpath in the grounds of Dorothy House.

The registration fee for the Festive Family Frolic is £5 per entrant (5s and under are free). Each child must be accompanied by an adult. All entrants to the Frolic will receive an elf hat to wear on the day – festive fancy dress is highly encouraged!

Emily Knight, Dorothy House event organizer said: “We welcome serious runners as well as people who are looking to have fun while raising funds for Dorothy House.”

“As part of the registration fee, Dorothy House gives all runners an early Christmas gift – a stylish Santa outfit.”

The registration fee is £17 per person (£12 before Friday 13 November) and runners are encouraged to provide a minimum of £30 in sponsorship.

Among the runners this year are Mick and Hilary Fairfield, who said they are taking part because of the great working the charity does, to remember their son Tom who died three years ago and for fun.

“2015 will be the fourth year that we have taken part in the Dash (although we must admit we tend to amble rather than dash). Throw off your inhibitions, throw on a Santa suit and join in,” they said.
