Passengers travelling on Great Western Railway services between London and the West were warned to expect delays this afternoon after a person was hit by a train.

The incident happened on the GWR mainline between Reading and London Paddington this morning.

GWR were warning passengers to expect delays of around an hour.

A spokesman for National Rail Enquiries said: "A person has been hit by a train near Ealing Broadway which is causing delays of up to 60 minutes to journeys to and from London Paddington.

"Great Western Railway passengers may use First Buses on routes 1B, 58, 71, 75, 76, X25, and X74. Passengers may also use Chiltern Railways, South West Trains, CrossCountry, Southern, and London Underground on any reasonable route."

  • Trains were said to be running normally by 4.30pm.
