A MAN accused of driving a getaway car at a police officer has been warned he is facing a jail term.
When Jason Smith, 30, appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court he pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving.
Smith also admitted driving the Peugeot 306 while disqualified and stealing three drills worth £304 from B&Q at Barnfield.
Smith, of Collingsmead, Eldene, admitted all three offences, which took place on Friday, August 14.
The court heard that three months earlier he had been put on a suspended sentence for driving while disqualified.
Judge Peter Blair QC adjourned the case to Friday, December 11, so a pre-sentence report could be prepared and remanded Smith in custody.
He warned him: “Because you are in breach of a suspended sentence it is highly likely it will be a prison sentence. But I would like to know more about your situation before a decision is made.”
