POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man indecently exposed himself to two teenage girls in the park near Savernake Street.

Two 16-year-old girls were on the swings in the park on Savernake Street at about 6pm on Thursday, November 26, when they noticed the man was indecently exposing himself at the other end of the play park.

They immediately left but realised the man left the park via another entrance and was making his way towards them on Savernake Street.

The girls shouted at him to leave them alone and left.

The man is described as a white male in his 40s, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, of slim build wearing dark clothing.

He had a white mountain bike with him which he had to lift over the fencing into the park.

PC Chris Hughes, who is investigating the incident, said: "These young women were left very scared after this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this man in the area at the time, or who may know who he is.

"Residents of Savernake Street may have seen him acting suspiciously and although it was dark at the time, the girls were able to see his white mountain bike which they saw him lifting over the fence.

"If you heard or saw anything suspicious around 6pm I would urge you to get in touch and help us find this man."
