AFTER an armed robbery in Lacock, police have released an e-fit of a man in connection with the incident.

The incident, which took place shortly after 10am on March 23 at Watling Goldsmiths in East Street, Lacock.

The suspects pulled up in a white Ford Kuga outside the jewellers and entered the shop through the front door. One of the men, who was brandishing a metal pole, threatened the member of staff who was sat at her desk whilst the other men proceeded to smash the glass fronted display cabinets with a sledge hammer.

The men then left the scene in the car with an estimated haul worth between £60,000 and £100,000. The white Ford Kuga was then dumped nearby before the men made off in a light blue Range Rover.

Sergeant Paul Harvey said: “A member of the public saw the group before the armed robbery and before they covered their faces in masks which has enabled us to put together an e-fit of one of the men. He is described as white, aged between 18 and 20, of slim build, with brown hair.

“This was a terrifying incident for those involved and it has shocked the local, tight-knit community. I would like to reassure members of the public that we continue to carry out a robust investigation and enquiries are ongoing.

“We would like to appeal to anyone who may be able to identify the man pictured, or anyone who may have information relating to the incident, to contact DC 1686 Martyn Cole immediately on 101."
