WAYNE Haskard, who lives in the Australian Outback, is looking for relatives of his grandmother Rose Annie Plank, who was born in the Devizes or Market Lavington area on June 29 1897.

Rose left England to marry an Australian, Ernie Clark, with her daughter Trixie, around 1926.

They met when Ernie was in the Australian Army in England for the First World War, like thousands of Ozzie lads.

They were reunited when Rose travelled by boat and then coach (some 800km from Adelaide by road) to Wilcannia, New South Wales, Australia, with their daughter Trixie, around 1926 and married Ernie in 1927.

He knows little of Rose's life in England, and would enjoy getting to know more. He knows she had a brother who lost a leg in a coach accident when he wasn't very old.

Rose also spoke highly of the children she looked after, as a nanny.

Rose's father was John Plank and her mother, Eliza Mundy.

The family is visiting the UK in June and will be visiting the area to see where Rose spent her childhood.
