TODDLERS in Corsham got the chance to meet some furry farmyard friends on Friday as part of Barnardo's Big Toddle event at Springfield Campus.

This year's annual get together had an animal theme with children encouraged to dress up as their favourite beast from 10.30am-12pm.

The toddlers, who all received a medal at the end, were treated to a number of free activities including face-painting, a scrapstore, farm animals from Devizes farm, Dave and Ewe, and a play area.

"Once again it was a great success and hopefully we can raise lots of money for Barnardo's as part of the charity's 150 year celebration," said Corsham Children Centre manager Georgina Knapp.

"Nearly 100 people turned up which was lovely to see and all the toddlers had so much fun, especially with the face painting and meeting the farmyard animals - it was a real treat.

"Each year this event goes down really well but this was an extra special toddle occasion so we have probably raised more than usual."

The Big Toddle is the UK’s biggest fundraising event for under-5s.

Barnardo’s children’s services manager Liz James added: "It was a really fun spectacle with a lot of happy faces."

The children’s centre is managed on behalf of Wiltshire Council and provides free support and advice to families across Corsham, Box, Colerne, Yatton Keynell, Kington St Michael and Lacock.

Activities include parenting programmes, breastfeeding peer support, music groups, soft play sessions, sensory play and baby massage, as well as links with health services and links to training and employment.
