Songs of Skiddy are showcased by his own vocals and his own band Black Sheep Apprentice.

The guys will be headlining at the Victoria, Victoria Road, Old Town in Swindon tomorrow, August 13 from 8pm.

The versatile musician, Richard Skidmore, brought together his pals, who just happened to be respected music men, in 2009 to create a platform for what he calls a darker genre of country music.

"Our music is loosely based around the idea of dark country such as Johnny Cash and a more contemporary punk cross over such as Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros,'' said Skiddy.

Over the years the line-up has changed but the energy and enthusiasm remains in the slender but steel like grip of Skiddy's hands.

On stage the fireball of rock fusion is backed by two new members to the fold, Juan Guanchez on drums and Julian Barnet on bass.

Julian played with Skiddy in the alternative rock band Jacksauce.

The band are working on an album with a number of the cream of Swindon's musicians putting in guest performances including Nick Osman, Josh Wetheritt, Pete Cousins, Sam Bates and Rich Millin.

Supporting Black Sheep Apprentice at The Vic will be George Wilding, a singer/songwriter from Avebury. George was spotted by the renowned singer/songwriter, Nick Harper, who asked him to perform at a charity gig, Avebury Rocks, in 2011 for the Love, Hope and Strength Foundation. This won George support slots on the same stage as Newton Faulkner and The Levellers, and help on his EP from Mike Rowe, who plays keyboards with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
