A TEENAGE knifeman who was involved in a night of disorder has been warned he is facing a mandatory jail term.

Kyle Wood-Woolley was among a group of youths who were causing trouble in Melksham on March 16.

The 18-year-old, of Church View, Etchilhampton, pleaded guilty to damaging three cars when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.

He also admitted threatening another man with a knife during the incident in Craybourne Road, Melksham.

Hannah Squire, prosecuting, told the court: "He was part of a pack that were causing trouble."

Andrew Stone, defending, said: "I would ask for the case to be adjourned for reports: for the most serious offence there is a mandatory six months' custody."

As well as seeking a pre-sentence report he said he would also like to get some medical reports on his client.

He said Wood-Woolley suffered from autism along with depression, stress and an anxiety disorder.

Releasing him on bail Judge Tim Mousley QC said: "You pleaded guilty to serious matters.

"You will come back to be sentence on October 6, by which time there will be a pre-sentence report and some mental evidence for the judge who deals with you.

"All sentencing options will be open to the court on that occasion, which will include an immediate custodial sentence, do you understand?"

Threatening another person while armed with a knife now carries a compulsory six-month jail term unless a judge thinks it unjust.
