A man from Bath was fined £200 at North Wiltshire Magistrates Court for being in possession of 0.6g of a class A drug in Calne.
The court heard on Thursday (sep 22) how 55-year-old John Derek Stokes of London Road West, who pleaded guilty, handed the diamorphine over to police when he was stopped and explained it was for personal use in Calne on September 3.
Defending Miss Pink said: “He explained to police it was for personal use and he handed it to them and he explained to me how he was working with probation. He ironically got addicted to heroin while in prison in 2000.”
Stokes was ordered to pay £170 in costs and a victim surcharge of £30 by District Judge Simon Cooper.
