Violinist Lorna Osbon is a firm favourite with both the BBC and Channel 4.

Her recordings include the violin solo element in the television series Cracker, starring Robbie Coltrane.

Lorna is also in demand with some of the top orchestras in the UK, including the London Philharmonic, the City of London Sinfonia and the Orchestra of St John's Smith Square.

The violinist performs as a concerto soloist, recitalist, leader and principal player. She plays with Bath's famous Pump Room Trio and has worked on world premieres with composers such as Arvo Part and Lutoslawski.

She has performed all over Europe and the Far East but on Wednesday, October 5 the Bristol-born musician will be returning nearer to home as she takes part in the autumn concert of the Swindon Recital Series.

She will be accompanied by concert pianist Paul Turner, the founder of the Swindon Recital Series, at the Wyvern Theatre from 1.05pm. The jazz-based programme will include Piazzolla's Delonga Del Angel and some work from Lutoslawski. Tickets are £7 from 01793 524481. - Flicky Harrison
