BUSY Bees nursery in St Andrews Ridge is celebrating after receiving an Outstanding rating from Ofsted in their latest inspection.

The report marks an improvement from the last inspection which returned a Good rating, now putting the nursery among less than 10 per cent of early year’s settings in the country to hold this rating.

The nursery attained the top score in four areas of inspection including quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, outcomes for children and the effectiveness of the leadership and management..

Ofsted praised the nurseries partnership with parents, noting that: “Staff work very well with families and other professionals to provide superb support for children who need additional help to ensure they reach their full potential.”

The staff team at the nursery were also praised for “enthusing and motivating children with a truly inspirational and stimulating learning environment. It ignites their curiosity and they explore with great enthusiasm,” the report said. “Staff have extremely high expectations of the children and use a variety of methods to identify children’s interests, in the setting and at home, to help plan for their learning.”

Child development was given a special mention with inspector June Robinson stating: “Children’s behaviour is exemplary. They are exceptionally polite and respectful to each other. They demonstrate care and consideration for each other by sharing their resources well.”

She added to further improve the nursery should explore ways for children to find information to answer their questions to help extend their learning even further.

Niki Eyles, nursery manager, said: “It is incredibly rewarding to receive an Outstanding in all areas from Ofsted. This endorsement proves that all our hard work is recognised and the outstanding care we strive to provide is delivered.

We work really well together and every member of staff works tirelessly to ensure that every area of care and education is provided at the highest level for our children and their families. We’re thrilled to bits and so are our parents - we will definitely be celebrating for a few weeks to come.”
