LOCAL BAND The Zoots will be storming the stage of Marlborough Town Hall for a special Halloween show, their first show in their home town.

On Friday October 28 The Zoots will be taking to the stage to perform a Halloween concert at the town hall in the High Street. As well as a performance from the Marlborough band, there will also be guest performances by musicians from the Marlborough Academy of Dance and Drama.

Jamie Goddard, lead singer and frontman of The Zoots, said: “Most of our shows are overseas and our UK performances are usually private or corporate events so it is great to be back home performing in our home town, with our best show yet.”

The band, who moved to Marlborough five years ago, will be performing a variety of covers, ranging from Elvis to Queen, Michael Jackson to The Monkees, and promise it will be a fun show for the whole family.

“We’ve been looking to put on a show since we moved here but we’ve been so busy and now, five years later, is the first time we’ve been able to put on a public event on our doorstep,” added Mr Goddard.

The five piece band have performed over 1,000 shows and toured 30 countries since their inception in 2009. Comprising of Mr Goddard, Simon Small on drums and backing vocals, Harriet Lowther on percussion, Tommy Lloyd on bass and vocals and Ben Jones on lead guitar, the quintet are aiming to deliver a memorable home town performance.

"We are hoping to make this a regular thing, themed performances would be a good thing to do in Marlborough. For the Halloween show we have chosen a few songs to match the Halloween theme and we will be decorating the room out as well," said Mr Goddard.

Tickets for The Zoots Halloween show at Marlborough Town Hall are available on the band’s website www.thezoots.com for £13 each, or from Mercers Café in Hilliers Yard. The show will take place on Friday October 28 from 7pm-11pm.
