EVER since his parents bought him a greenhouse for his eleventh birthday, Jonathan Moseley has had a passion for floral design and arrangement, and soon became one of the UK’s leading designers.

As well as often appearing as a floral judge on BBC2's The Big Allotment Challenge, Mr Moseley travels the country and abroad as an international demonstrator, where he teaches floral enthusiasts the tricks of the trade.

His most recent visit was to Holt Village Hall, where he spent the day with the Bradford on Avon & District Flower Club. The informal and hands-on demonstration allowed the locals to develop their floristry skills and create new pieces inspired by Mr Moseley's unique and quirky style, all whilst enjoying tea and biscuits in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Floral enthusiast Ans Nicholls, said: “I have been arranging flowers for six years now, and when I heard of Jonathan’s visit I was very interested. I am so pleased with the outcome, Jonathan is a great teacher and puts us all at ease, and this kind of thing is great for beginners to attend as it forms a base from which further skills can develop.”

Chairman of the club, Helen Curtis said she was extremely pleased with how the day turned out. She added: “Floral design and arrangement is a form of escapism, you can just arrange flowers and forget everything else.”

Mr Moseley has big plans for 2017, as he plans to launch a campaign to aid more British farmers to grow cut stem flowers on a much larger scale, and get Britain back on the flower cut patch agenda.

He said: “Currently Britain accounts for less than 10 per cent of the international turnover in a multi million pound industry.”
