THE Duchess of Cornwall made a newly-wed couple’s day extra special when they stumbled across her visit to Swindon today.

Rachel and Craig Bailey had just tied the knot in the register office and were walking past the civic offices to the car park when they noticed lots of police outside.

“We just came out and there was lots of security and we were like: ‘What’s happening?’ Someone said it was Camilla,” said Rachel.

The wedding party decided to wait with the rest of the well-wishers and press to see the duchess emerge from the offices where she was talking with council chiefs and officials from the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery Trust about regeneration plans for the town.

When she walked down the steps to the car an aide pointed out the couple and she went straight over, offering them her congratulations.

Rachel told the Advertiser: “She was asking where we were going on honeymoon and saying: ‘Have a good time'.”

Rachel then made a cheeky request for the Duchess to pose with them for a quick snap and she obliged, smiling broadly at the camera.
