Selling, hiring and repairing people's kit is music to the ears of staff at instrument and accessory supplier All Instruments in Westbury.

The 25 members of staff are made up of music teachers and shop and warehouse staff: all the assistance you might need when it come to buying or learning an instrument.

General manager Rob Tayler has been working at the firm in Warminster Road for five and a half years.

"I like working on the shop side of the business," he said. "I buy in goods like pianos and guitars. We are a main dealer of about five or six brands including Casio, Eko and Stagg.”

The business, which has been running for 37 years and also has a base in Midsomer Norton, offers a variety of instruments from a number of different brands and also takes second-hand equipment for resale.

“We aren’t restricted to one or two different brands or models – I think that is why we are still here after all these years. It is something that makes us different to the chains,” added Mr Tayler.

The business welcomes people of all ages for lessons and workshops.

John Millichip has been teaching guitar at All Instruments for five years. "We have held workshops for all ages and we have also done band work for professional musicians.

"The atmosphere here is really good. We all get on very well and we have jammed on a couple of occasions. We have a very eclectic music taste which I think works really well.”

Marc Messenger works with the warehouse team.

“I move the pianos out the back and do a lot of heavy lifting," he said. "I have been working here since July and it's a friendly place to work.”

The shop welcomes many music students through its doors, offering training in everything from piano and guitar to drums.

Neil Harris, drum teacher and piano mover, said: “I have been teaching drums for seven years now. Everyone is very friendly and easygoing and it is very rewarding. When the schools break up it gets really busy.”
