THE teenage niece of electrician Chris Roger has started a fundraising campaign to help her uncle after he had hundreds of pound of tools stolen from his work van.

Charlotte Neale, 16, hopes a crowd funding appeal on JustGiving will raise £200 to help replace the much needed tools for father of four Mr Roger from Market Lavington, near Devizes who has helped raise thousands for charity.

He said: "I am very grateful to Charlotte for doing this for me. I have had to borrow tools and use old ones since the theft. I took out a loan to buy the specialist drill and other tools but I don't want to have to do that again."

His tools were stolen last month from his blue Ford Transit van when it was parked while he was working in the Trowbridge and Westbury area. He is not exactly sure where the theft took place as he did not realise they were gone until the next day.

Charlotte from Westbury who is a student at Trowbridge College said: "I hope the fundraising page gets shared. We have raised quite a bit so far and I really appreciate the support."

Her mum Sam Neale, who is Mr Roger's sister, wrote on the crowd funding appeal to support the campaign. She said: "My brother has worked hard for the last 10 years to provide for his wife and four children whilst training as an electrician.

"During this time he has been steadily building himself a fab tool kit much needed for his job. Over the years Chris has done fundraising for all different types of charities including raising money for a young girl to go abroad for specialised treatment .

"The most recent fundraising event was a 100 mile cycle ride for the air ambulance which he trained for weeks for. He is a kind generous person always ready to help with any fund raising.

"I am appealing to everyone's better nature especially at this time of year when money is tight for all of us."

So far £130 has been raised by the appeal.
