TRUCKERS are being encouraged that although they might always be on the go they should eat healthy, after the Chippenham Pit Stop launched their own healthy eating campaign.

Posters are being displayed around the facility just off junction 17 of the M4, to remind truckers and others in community to eat a sensible and balanced diet.

Pit Stop health campaigns coordinator Lisa Hatherell said: “The plate is divided into sections and clearly shows the balance of choices to be made between healthy foods and the not so healthy options.

“Driving a truck and spending an entire working week behind the wheel is not seen as a particularly healthy occupation so we are doing our best to help redress the balance.

“We are also encouraging customers to tell us if they have any special dietary requirements and they can, of course, make full use of our outside exercise gym.”
