VISITORS attending the Calne Model Railway Show were left chuffed to bits with the selection of track layouts and choice of products on sale at the annual event.
The show, which was being held for the 24th time and was located at the Calne Leisure Centre over the weekend, attracted almost 1,500 people.
There were 36 stalls, including track layouts from the UK, Germany and Switzerland, and a huge variety of products for people to buy.
Exhibition manager Geoff Endacott, said: “We were just shy of 1,500 which is pretty much normal.
“We had people from all over the place and we had an awful lot of families and young people as well.
“We did a special family ticket and there a lot of people taking us up on that.
“It was a good mix of ages, very much so. Every ten years we get told that it’s on the way out but it never does, it still survives.
“Sales are still quite good and children like to have something that they can get their hands on.
“That’s the thing about model railways as opposed to video games and it’s still popular.”
