A FORMER security guard who was arrested following an attack on a woman in Badbury Park has pleaded guilty to attempted murder.
Bikash Gurung, 41, from Swindon, appeared before a judge at Bristol Crown Court on Friday morning via video link from prison.
Police were called to an address in Boyton Close on the evening of December 29 following reports that a 36-year-old woman had been attacked.
She had serious injuries to her head, face and hands and was rushed to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance.
Her injuries were so serious that she was later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where she remained for some time in a critical but stable condition.
Gurung is due to appear in court again on March 24 when he will be sentenced. He faces an inevitable prison sentence and has been remanded in custody until then.
