SWINDON has been revealved as the 'Pervert capital of the UK', with the highest rate of flashers and peeping toms in the country

According to the latest figures from the Home Office, Swindon was the worst place for perverted behaviour in the UK, having the highest levels of flashers and peeping toms in the country, according to new data.

There were 94 cases of people exposing themselves or spying on others in the town in the 12 months up to and including September 2016.

That’s up from 40 instances of exposure or voyeurism recorded in the area over the same period the year before.

According to this, roughly one person in every 2,310 people living in Swindon will display this sort of behaviour - three times higher than the national average.

Camden came second as the worst place in the UK for flashers and peeping toms, with 88 cases of exposure and voyeurism recorded last year respectively, followed by Hackney with 96.

Blackpool and Westminster complete the top five places with the highest rates of flashers and peeping toms striking in the areas.

Seaside haven Blackpool ranked fourth according to the data, Westminster, home to UK's parliament, ranked fifth in the list.

The only place in the whole of England and Wales which saw absolutely no instances of people exposing themselves or spying on others was in Rutland in the East Midlands.

Exposure is when someone exposes their genitals with the intention that someone will see them, in order to cause alarm or distress, while voyeurism involves someone observing or recording a person doing a private act without their consent.
