ANYONE who needs to get to London from Swindon, Chippenham, Pewsey or Great Bedwyn on Sunday face a nightmare journey unless they can leave after 1pm.
GWR has announced disruption to the service between Reading and London Paddington and says that those who have to travel before 1pm will face diverted rail journeys or have to go on a replacement bus.
A spokesman said: "Network Rail will undertake vital Crossrail work between Reading and Hayes & Harlington. Where possible customers are advised to travel after 1300 or check before they travel and use the alternative routes provided. Passengers with tickets for Sunday morning will be able to travel on any service Sunday afternoon/evening.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances vital engineering work now needs to take place at short notice from 0100 hrs to 1300 Sunday 26 March. "
