A PET-OWNER is appealing for help after her beloved rescue cat went missing.

Black and white tomcat Jestro vanished from a house in Cloudberry Road, Haydon Wick, on March 11.

He was found living on the streets in Gloucester and kind-hearted Donna Perry had him neutered and vaccinated, and found him a loving new home.

But days into his new home the feisty feline escaped through an open window and ran off.

The 18-month-old also has the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) making him vulnerable to infection outside.

Donna, who has two cats of her own, fed the stray for a year before deciding to catch and rehome him.

She said: “He is very timid and he was just starting to let you stroke him when he was sat on the bed.

“He isn’t allowed outside anymore because of his illness but he just took off.

"I know he can survive on the streets but I am very worried that he might become ill very quickly and be in a lot of pain if he is not found quickly."

Donna plans to take Jestro into her own home when he is found and is hoping for the public’s help in tracking down the missing moggy.

Donna said: “I just want him home now, he is very much missed.”
