WILTSHIRE College has been given the seal of approval by an independent body that monitors education standards.

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education confirmed that the college ‘meets UK expectations’ in all four areas – the quality of student learning opportunities and information about learning opportunities, the maintenance of academic standards of awards offered and the enhancement of student learning opportunities.

The successful review, which took place in February, means the college can display the QAA Quality Mark indicating to all UK and international students that the college’s university courses meet all national requirements for standards and quality.

Principal Amanda Burnside said: “We’re delighted to receive this positive endorsement of the college’s degrees and higher level courses.

“This recognition will confirm to local students and employers that there is a real alternative to going out of the county to study and that there is a high quality offer in Wiltshire.

“Our new HE strategy will deliver more flexible and part time courses aligned to employment priority areas; we are working closely with employers on these developments.”
