CAR enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get their hands on a limited edition sports car with only 88,000 miles on the clock thanks to the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum's latest annual prize draw.

The Friends of the Museum will be giving away a 2003 Mazda MX-5 Nevada, of which only 2,050 were made for UK import, for their annual raffle and petrolheads have until early July to be in with a shot of winning the keys.

"We started this year's raffle in January and we normally do it for a full year but we have decided to change it this year to we can draw the winner right here at our annual show on July 9," Friend Pam Bain said. "The MX5 is a limited edition car and only 2,050 were made for UK import so it is a real chance for someone to get their hands on something special.

"Mazda's are one of the best sports car in the world and it is a reliable modern classic. The car has quite a big following and we thought it would appeal not only to petrol heads but to members of the general public too."

The annual draw has been a tradition for the Friends since the 1980s and provides vital funds to allow the Friends to keep the museum up and running and help create bigger and better projects. Last year, the museum made more than £13,000 with their 1976 MG Midget raffle.

"Things are going pretty good so far," she added. "We are just starting the season and getting on track but we will be at lots of events for people to buy their tickets."

People will be able to purchase £1 tickets for the 1.8 litre engine car from the Friends at various shows over the next coming weeks from Downton Cuckoo Fair to Castle Coombe's Steam Rally, from the museum itself or online via www.atwellwilson.org.uk.
