A YOUNGSTER lived out every child’s fantasy this afternoon as she was given the opportunity to fill up a glass jar with all her favourite sweets – free of charge.
Kyra Wallis was granted special access to Garbanzo's sweet shop in The Shires after winning an Easter competition organised by the shopping centre, in which children had to scour it for Easter eggs dotted around various stores.
The 11-year-old managed to find all of the eggs and was allowed to fill up a jar of sugary goodness for her efforts.
Kyra, a pupil at John of Gaunt, said: “It was really exciting because I’ve never won anything before.
“Gummy bears are probably my favourite type of sweet so I made sure I put lots of them in the jar.
“I’m not sure if I want to share them with family or friends yet – I do like sweets quite a lot.”
The egg hunt was one of many events organised by the shopping centre over the Easter period.
Step-dad Damian Gedge, of Francis Street, said: “Kyra loves her sweets, as most kids do, so she was over the moon to win and thoroughly enjoyed picking her favourite sweets.
“Thank you to The Shires for organising the competition and Garbanzo’s sweet shop for making Kyra a very happy girl.”
