CHRIST Church Community Centre is having a May Day Fayre on Monday to raise money for the Donkey Sanctuary.

The centre will be full of stalls selling clothes, homeware, games and books for people to browse.

A tombola, a cafe, and a mini-garden centre will also be at the event which was organised by Yasmin Fattori, who holds a ‘Yoga with Yasmin’ class at the centre.

She said: “It’s an old-fashioned fayre with something for everyone and a chance to make new friends while giving something back.

“The Donkey Sanctuary is an amazing charity that helps donkeys and their communities all over the world.

“I’ve had some delightful conversations with people from all walks of live who recognise the importance of these gentle, hard-working animals.”

Entry to the event will cost £2 for adults, £1 for children and under-5’s can go in for free.

Miss Fattori held a similar event last year which raised £1,000 for the charity which has been her designated charity for the last four years.

The Donkey Sanctuary was founded in 1969 to protect and care for donkeys and mules.

It describes its mission as creating a world in which the animals live free from suffering and hardship.
