TOMORROW marks the start of a new lease of life for one of Trowbridge’s historic buildings after a five-year renovation costing over £500,000.

The former Wiltshire County Council’s offices in Hill Street have been completely renovated and turned into 16 apartments.

The building, which dates back to the 1900s, has been the offices for the county council, the town’s library and recently a snooker club during its lifetime.

Kelly Richards of Upsalls Property Management said: “This project has been very tastefully done keeping all the characteristics of this fine building and we are looking forward to opening the doors to let people see this historic building restored to its former glory.”

But a search is on to find information and pictures of this building.

Mrs Richards added: “Despite it being an important building in the town we have not been able to find archive pictures or much information.

“This is a pity as we would love to display an old picture in the grand entrance of the building.”
