A CHEQUE for £1,200 has been presented to a charity close to the hearts of Masonic Lodge master Tony German and his wife Deb.

Both sides of family of Mrs German have been affected by Parkinson's and so a charity which is leading the way into research on the disease was an obvious choice for her husband to support during his year in charge of the lodge Fidelity 663 Devizes.

They presented a cheque to Ruth Bradby of Parkinson's UK.

She said: "I’d like to thank Tony, Deb and all the members of the Masonic Lodge for supporting Parkinson’s UK.

“We are leading the way to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for the 127,000 people affected by Parkinson’s across the UK, but our work wouldn’t be possible without donations like these.”

The money was raised through a variety of events which culminated in a ladies festival weekend and ball in Bournemouth.
