SPECULATION is mounting over the future of Italian restaurant Bottelino's after owners refused to confirm its future for a second day.

Despite being open as usual over the course of the weekend, the restaurant alongside the MacArthurGlen Designer Outlet was closed on Monday and was still shut on Tuesday.

The restaurant in Penzance Drive is part of a small chain which also has branches in Portishead and Weston Super Mare.

The Adver contacted their head office for comment on Monday, with a spokesman confirming that the restaurant was closed but did not disclose how long it would be closed for.

When contacted for comment again on Tuesday, they said they could not comment on the reasoning for the closure at this time.

Two men in a truck parked by the entrance to the restaurant on Tuesday afternoon mentioned that it was closed for "a clean" but did not elaborate.

Bottelino's has gone through some difficulties in recent months.

A private party at the restaurant on Halloween 2016 was gatecrashed by a group of people who then started a big brawl.

One man was stabbed and the restaurant was forced to close for two weeks.

When it reopened, it was under new management.

Now the restaurant appears to have closed with no warning and no mention on any of its social media accounts.
