A HEROIC Trowbridge woman who saved her boyfriend's life is urging people to learn CPR at an event organised by the British Heart Foundation.

Hannah Jones carried out CPR on her partner when he unexpectedly collapsed in August 2011.

At the time, Mrs Jones had no knowledge of the life-saving action so was instructed in how to perform it by a 999 operator.

The incident inspired the 29-year-old, who works as a student liaison officer at Wiltshire College, to go on a first aid course.

She said: “Soon after this happened I took a first aid course because I wanted to make sure that I knew how to do CPR if it ever happened again.

“I believe everyone should know CPR. You just never know when you might find yourself in in an emergency.”

She is now encouraging people to learn the skill at the charity’s community day event at the BHF’s Furniture & Electrical store in Fore Street, Trowbridge, on Saturday, June 10 between 11am – 3pm.

Along with an opportunity to learn CPR, the community day will also give the public a greater insight into the work of the BHF locally and how they can become involved by becoming a fundraiser or volunteer.
