DORSET & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is looking for young people from the Trowbridge and surrounding areas to join its new Fire Cadet programme.
The aim of Fire Cadets is to support the development of young people by providing a positive role model and giving them opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities.
The service is keen to recruit young people between the ages of 12 and 18 to take part in the training scheme, which will give cadets the chance to learn new skills and obtain a BTEC qualification.
Youth intervention coordinator, Christine Sharma, who will oversee the scheme, said: “The programme, which is linked to the National Fire Cadet model, will be delivered by firefighters and volunteers across 38 weeks within the academic year of 2017/18.
“Drills will take place every Thursday evening at Trowbridge fire station and will involve practical and theoretical elements, along with community based social action projects.”
If you are interested, contact Mrs Sharma on 07771 594981 or email christine.sharma@dwfire.org.uk.
