DEVIZES fire station will be hosting a charity car wash this Saturday, 8th July, to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and the Epilepsy Society.
Around a dozen local firefighters will be on hand to rescue dirty cars from 10am to 2pm at the station on Southbroom Road. As well as washing cars in return for donations, the crew can give advice on home fire safety and provide information to anyone interested in being an on-call firefighter.
Crew manager Richard Lake said, “These car washes are a good fundraiser for us and we raised nearly £1,000 last time – it’d be great to see lots of people come along.”
The Fire Fighters Charity offers support to serving and retired personnel and their families, and the staff chose the Epilepsy Charity to support Devizes firefighter, Mike Cleaver, whose daughter Poppy was diagnosed with the condition.
