A WITNESS has relived the terrifying moment a man barged into his room to hide in the midst of a police raid.

Lucky Omobogie spoke at the first day of a trial at Swindon Crown Court where a London man, 20-year-old Rashaun Wright, is accused of possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin from an address in Ford Street, Kingshill.

Mr Omobogie told the court how he was listening to music in the bedroom of his shared house in March last year when he heard a loud bang and people rushing up the stairs.

“Then I heard a bang on my own door and someone ran into my room,” he said. “Initially I thought it was a gang fight, I jumped up, I was scared.

“The man came in and was agitated, his hands were in his pants and he was looking for somewhere to hide. I thought that whatever they were going to do to him they would also do to me so I ran in the closet and he followed me.”

Mr Omobogie’s fears were allayed when the ‘intruders’ turned out to be police officers on a drugs raid. The officers found 23g of cocaine under a bed which the prosecution allege was hidden there by the Wright. He was subsequently arrested.

In another room, officers found 10g of heroin, tin foil and other paraphernalia which they allege is used in connection with the supply of drugs. They also found telephones, alleged to belong to Wright, containing messages which officers say relate to drug dealing.

Wright denies being in possession of the drugs or concerned in their supply. The trial continues.
