AN exhibition telling the story of how communities across Wiltshire fared during the First World War is taking place at Bradford on Avon Library this month.

The Bradford on Avon Museum is hosting a WW1 exhibition from the Wiltshire at War: Community stories series. It has been produced by the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.

The exhibitions tell the stories of how the First World War shaped lives and landscapes across Wiltshire's towns and villages between 1914 and 1918.

Museum Trustee Valerie Holden said: “The exhibitions are about local named people and we learn about their experiences of the First World War.”

Artefacts and documents are on display and visitors are able to try on clothes from the period.

The exhibition takes place in the Bradford on Avon Library meeting room on the first floor next to the Museum. A lift is available for elderly people and those with disabilities.

It is running until Saturday August 26 when the library is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In addition it will be open on Sunday from 2pm to 4pm, when the museum is open.
