A WOMAN who was dramatically arrested by police in Bradford on Avon failed to make an application for bail at Bristol Crown Court this morning.

Rachael Smith, 42, of Sedgemoor Road, Bath, is accused of assisting an offender in relation to the death of Tashan Corpe in Bath on Sunday August 13 by driving Josh Farnham away from Selworthy House.

Anna Vigars, prosecuting, said the application for bail was not made. She was unable to say why for legal reasons.

Smith did not appear at today’s hearing. It is not known whether a bail application will be made at a later date. When she appeared at the Crown Court last Thursday, she was remanded in custody.

Farnham, 30, also appeared at Bristol Crown Court by videolink on Thursday to face charges following the incident, which resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man. He was remanded in custody.

Farnham, of Old Fosse Road, Bath, has been charged with the murder of Tashan Adrian Corpe, at about 4.30pm on August 13. Tashan died shortly afterwards.

Farnham is also charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Devon Corpe, the dead man’s brother, with intent to do him grievous bodily harm, and assaulting Louisianna Santillo, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.

All three charges relate to offences alleged to have taken place at Selworthy House, Sedgemoor Road, Bath, on August 13.

The pair had previously appeared separately at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 16 to have the charges read out to them. Neither has yet entered a plea.
