A GROUP of jolly wheelers who cycled to nearly 30 different Dorothy House charity shops in a 130-mile bike ride have raised more than £700 for the hospice.

A team of employees from Bath based MyLife Digital Group, which includes Charity Data Analysis company Wood for Trees, started at the hospice's headquarters in Winsley, moving onto visit its shops in 15 different towns, including Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, Melksham and Chippenham, before returning to Winsley.

Led by former Bath and England rugby player John Hall, who was joined by three work mates for the whole thing and several others in stages, the cyclists received cheery welcomes at each shop in what was a tiring but fun-filled day out.

"It was a really enjoyable day out, taking in the countryside, dropping into the smiley staff at the charity shops and raising a good amount for a brilliant charity," said Mr Hall.

"We set out at 6.30am and finished just over 12 hours later, averaging 14.9mph, so we didn't fly round but we went at a decent pace. There was a really good atmosphere amongst the cyclists, who took a selfie had all of the 27 stops.

"This is our charity of the year and now we have raised more than £2,300 for them which we are very happy with."
