A GIRL who helped her mum recover from a stroke has taken part in the Stroke Association’s Christmas concert by doing a reading in front of 250 people in London.
Other readers included TV presenter Chris Tarrant, who had a stroke on board a plane in 2014while travelling from Thailand to London.
Serena Inglefield was just 15 months old when her mum Rachel suffered from a stroke which left her unable to walk or care for herself.
Serena, from Ogbourne St George, is now six and was chosen to take part in the charity’s celebrations after helping her mum to recover.
Ms Inglefield said: “I am very proud of her.
“I was only 38 when I had the stroke and I never thought it would happen to me.”
The carol service took place in Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square in London and was attended by many stroke victims helped by the charity.
Gabi Field, head of community and events fundraising, said: “We’re so grateful to Serena for her wonderful reading on the night, she was fantastic! The funds raised will help us be there for even more stroke survivors.”
