A casualty has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition after a serious fire at a house on Frome Road in Trowbridge in the early hours of this morning (January 13).
Fire crews from Trowbridge, Melksham, Westbury and Warminster, supported by vehicles from Devizes and Bath, were called to the fire at around 1.30am where they rescued the resident from a first floor bedroom of the semi detaced house.
They were taken to Bath RUH but were transferred to a specialist burns unit at Morriston Hospital in Swansea where they are said to be critical but stable.
The road was closed while firefighters tackled the blaze and ambulances and police also attended the scene.
The fire service are now wrking with Wiltshire Police to determine the cause of the fre.
A spokesman from Wiltshire Police said: "We attended a fire at 1.30am today (Saturday 13 January 2018).
"We are currently investigating the cause as to whether or not it is suspicious along with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service."
